Running Away!

Posted June 1st, 2010 by Trinity and filed in Uncategorized

Hello everyone! I hope you are having a better week than I am. First I wanted to let everyone know I will announce the winner of my contest/fundraiser after I get back from Lori’s. Hopefully I’ll be in a better mind frame than.

I have a question for everyone. When in High School or for that matter any time during school when taking a test in class what did your teacher do? Did the teacher walk around making sure no one cheated or offered help when you were stuck? Did they leave the classroom? Wasn’t the test collected at the end of the time frame?
Has our school system changed so much that I don’t understand it? I mean how can my daughter miss every single test in her classes when she was there? Did they ignore her? Mind you also my daughter is also handicapped her short term memory is more or less not there. There is a extra teacher in the classroom with her because of this. So what were both teachers doing?
Than I see on her weekly report she is missing assignments not homework, day work? Again where are the teachers?
My daughter has been staying after school just to get help with her work and she is still missing all this? Something isn’t right here.
Not to mention over 3/4 of the school year my daughter has been bullied non-stop. It got so bad the other students have her afraid to say anything in class. So how is she going to ask for help when she is afraid?
I have a meeting with the principal today be glad your not going to be there.
So for this year the only thing my daughter will remember is going to be her Washington trip and being bullied.
If they think they are going to keep her behind a year think again!

Sorry for the editing so pissed off I had to write.

Who is Patricia Pellicane?

Posted May 20th, 2010 by Trinity and filed in Uncategorized

Please welcome Patricia. Today she is here to tell us a little bit about herself and her new release.

1. First lets start off with you telling us a little about yourself.

Well, I could start off with my standard bio, but I’m getting tired of it and can only assume others have to feel the same. I’m not a very exciting person, although some folks think I am. Believe me I haven’t a clue why.
Pretty much I’m comfortable in my own skin, since this is the one I’m stuck with, and I haven’t much of a choice, I figure that’s a good thing.
I married a year out of high school. Fifty years ago. Still with the same man. Had seven children, so far have fifteen grandchildren, probably one more to go. Everyone lives within a town or so of my house, so we see each other often.
I work steadily on keeping a good attitude as I age. Cantankerous and crotchety people are so unbecoming, don’t you think?
Still there are a few things that get me riled. I suppose you might call them my pet peeves. One is, BUY AMERICAN. Can I say it clearer? With thousands out of work, how dare anyone of us choose a foreign product over one made in America? And the second is driving 20 miles an hour in a school zone. This one makes me crazy. When I slow down people beep at me and zoom past the first chance they get. Every day I’d say, “Where is a cop when you need one?” Until the day a cop was one of those zooming by.
Yeah, I called the precinct. No, I don’t expect anything to come of it, but it made me feel better. Is that crotchety do you think?

2. How long have you been writing?
About twenty years, with a eight year break in between. I had to work for medical coverage at our friendly neighborhood electric company. I love to say friendly electric company because I enjoy an oxymoron.
Probably ridiculous of me but I’m still waiting for that big break. Obviously an eternal optimistic.

3. What’s your favorite genre to write and read?
I love romance. The juicer and hotter the better.

4. I see you now review books have you come across any you didn’t enjoy?
I don’t enjoy shifters or vampires all that much and don’t review them often. Of course all of it is fantasy, but I think those push the envelope a bit. Just my personal opinion. I know some people love them.

5. How long does it take you to write a story?
Short stories take a little over a month. A novel closer to a year.

6. Where do your ideas come from?
Everything. Sometimes it’s part of a conversation, a word. Once a little girl’s name, but mostly ideas come when washing dishes. Could anything be more boring? My mind travels to far off places every time.

7. If you could be one author who would it be?
That’s a hard one. I love Steven King, not for his horror, but for his sense of humor. And then there’s Sandra Brown. She writes some hot stuff. James Patterson. Most of his stuff is crisp, clean and excellent. I don’t think I can name just one.

8. If you had to choose one place to live for the rest of your life where would it be? Probably New Orleans. I love that city. And New York of course, for the museums and shows and restaurants. Okay, I talked myself into it. New York. But there is San Francisco and the sea food. As you can see once I make up my mind you can’t sway me. LOL

9. Tell us where to find you?
ppellicane@gmail.com also my website www.patriciapellicane.com/

10. Where do you want you’re writing to go?
I strive to be the best I can be, which is why I read voraciously always searching for words, which I keep a list of to maybe use one day. Plus I rewrite a number of times before I’m comfortable with what I see. Writing to me is like poetry or music. It may not rhyme and of course it shouldn’t, but it has to flow smoothly like a song and when an odd word or phrase sticks out it knocks you out of the harmony, it destroys the rhythm and pulls you from the fantasy.
I’d like to one day be one of the best in my field.

11. I see you are published at Freya’s Bower as I am. Tell me what would you tell an author about FB if they were submitting to them?
I’d tell them the editors are wonderful, the publisher, always there to help promote, but they are sticklers for perfection in the mechanics of writing. Of course that is to everyone’s benefit as the finished products are really first class.

12. Is writing your only job?
Yes, thank God. I tried writing while keeping a full time job and couldn’t do it. I have to hand it to anyone who can. Where do you get your energy?

13. What is your favorite movie?
Casablanca, Gone with the Wind, The Notebook, Pride and Prejudice, see where I’m going here?

14. Do you have a new release coming out?
In May ‘Tell Me You Love Me’, a full length novel. It’s an historical set in 1800 England. It has the most beautiful cover.

15. If so tell us a little bit about it.
The story is about a serial murderer and of course a young lady who falls in love with gorgeous man who has some serious secrets.

16. Any future stories you can tell us about?
I have a short story for Total-e-bound, ‘Temptation’. Very hot. Contemporary romance with an old boyfriend that’s bound to give the lovers a bit of trouble. That will be out in July. Also in July a little longer story, ‘Heat Wave’, the second of a three book series for Resplendence. Western, set in 1866, Yuma, Arizona.

17. One last question. If you could give at least one piece of advice to a new author what would it be?
I’d tell them the road is long and terribly uneven, filled with extreme highs and desperate lows, but once bitten by the writing bug, nothing else is going to satisfy. And whether you make it big or not, the trip is part of the deal. So I’d say enjoy the ride and never, under any circumstances, ever give up.

Thank you so much for being here and I can’t wait to read your new story.

1 Romance Ebooks and A Man’s Dream

Posted April 26th, 2010 by Trinity and filed in Uncategorized

http://1romanceebooks.com/

For today’s blog, I congratulate Jeff Hicks with fulfilling his dream of starting his own business. 1Romance Ebooks is a vision turned into reality. Jeff says, “I have dreamed this dream for nearly two years.
Two years ago I was in a job I thought was my dream job when I started.
I absolutely hated it. Fortunately, I was laid off with 10% of that
company’s workforce. I immediately started putting my dream into action.
Four months later, 1RomanceEbooks was born.”

During our chat on The Publishing Trove Chat, Jeff’s business persona came across as the professional he is: Caring and always looking for ways to improve a great business. 1Romance Ebooks will be celebrating their one-year anniversary coming up in June, and I for one congratulate him on the outstanding customer service he has achieved.
Does Jeff understand everyone’s prospective when it comes to authors, publishing houses and so on?
Here is a little something he said about publishing.
“Running a publishing house is hard work. Web sites and shopping carts
and the customer service takes a lot of time, energy and money. Why not
outsource to us?
Attracting readers and authors to a new house takes time. Listing your
stories with 1RE gives you exposure to our readers and to authors.”
Authors, did you know that 1 Romance Ebooks offers an Author Spot light ?
Jeff’s statement to authors at our chat explains what his company can do for you.
“Authors that have books with publishing houses can gain a wider audience for their work. Our newsletter goes out twice per week with an author in the spotlight for each issue. Their name is in the subject line and is seen by thousands of romance readers. Our regular visitors are always looking for exciting stories and are willing to try new authors if the cover is attractive and the excerpt is well written and compelling.
Do you have stories listed at 1RomanceEbooks or 1EroticaEbooks and want to be featured in our Author Spotlight? See http://1romanceebooks.com/info_16.html for details. If you have questions, please email customerservice@1RomanceEbooks.com.
We do accept the work of self-published authors.”
After talking with Jeff for two hours, I encourage authors and publishers to check out 1Romance Ebooks. You won’t be disappointed.
Thank you, Jeff Hicks, for bringing your achievement to the publishing world!

Birthday’s

Posted March 25th, 2010 by Trinity and filed in Uncategorized

Well this year I’m celebrating another year of getting younger. I refuse to get older! But to me birthdays have a habit of reminding me of the sad years of my youth.
Example: My 16 birthday my mom planned a big party for me a total of two showed up for it out of 40.

My 18 birthday party mom wanted to take me to a strip club, but noo I had to go to what I thought was my friends house. She was throwing me a little thing with her brother who I adored! UMMM But alas that was a farce! Needless to say I was drugged that night and still to this day don’t remember what happened. Just bits and pieces and its not a pleasant memory.

Than there is the dear old dad who never remembered my birthday since I was 12, and still doesn’t to this day and I’m his first born! Oh well that’s dad.

So for me Birthdays are another year to say ya what’s special about it! Today I got up did laundry, dishes, got the kids to school, have to work tonight. Nothing special.

Every time my kids have a birthday I make sure they don’t go through what I did on mine that is what is important to me. My kids are my life so I celebrate their life on my birthday the only thing that matters.

Have a great day guys! Sorry for sounding so down just one of those days.

Reliving The Lonely High School Past Through Daughter’s Battle

Posted March 9th, 2010 by Trinity and filed in Uncategorized

I’m sitting here this morning and the house is quiet. Daughter is already at school, son is still sleeping and so is husband. My heart is heavy and tears want to form as I think of what my daughter must face today and everyday.
The same as I did in Jr. High and High School, loneliness and hurt.

When a child is born to you as a mother you always dream of that child having it easier than you did. Promising yourself that you will do anything possible to make their life easier than yours. Guide them when they hit trouble spots, but how do you stop the pain of Jr. High?

Tell me are the parents of bullies once bullies themselves in school? All through high school I was alone always trying to find someone to be a friend. I would give anything I had away just so someone would talk to me. Hell I would even do someones homework if need be.
I now see my daughter going through the same thing. She too gives away all that she has just to have someone talk to her. She now sits alone in the cafeteria every day for lunch by herself, because she says. “No one likes me Mom.” Ugg excuse me tears are falling now and it’s hard to write…
How does a mother handle this? Anyone? I can’t call the school, what are they supposed to do?
My daughter tells me there is one girl a new one I’ll call her Debbie that has been teasing her and getting all the other kids to hate her.
But yet my daughter has no hard feelings for this girl, all she wants to be is friends. Below is a poem she gave to me about said girl, remember I changed the name:

Debbie, Debbie why are you so rude?
Debbie, Debbie your a devil!
Debbie, Debbie, F.O.S.!
Fans of Debbie
Ohhh, I’m jealous of You!
Debbie, Debbie, Your so pretty
Ohhh look at you!
I can’t believe its you
grown so much! Wow!
Debbie, Debbie, Nice Shoes!
Debbie, Debbie, why are so fashionable?
Debbie, Debbie, your so popular
F.O.S.
Fans of Debbie, Debbie!

Mind you this is the same girl who terrorizes my daughter in school, but all my daughter wants to be is friends. Oh how the pain of Jr. High and High School are relived today and everyday with my daughter. Mom’s wishes that her daughter wouldn’t go through what she did has gone unheard. All I can do now is stand by my daughter and guide her.
